I Don't Want Your Office Job
Offices suck and jobs suck.
The world is out to get you.
You want to live free,
But your life is full of work and money.
You wonder when will it end?
You want anarchy,
You want freedom,
But all you see is the corporations.
Oh the corporations.
Offices and jobs, they'll pull you under,
Drain your life of happiness and wonder.
You really want the world to end,
Goodbye anarchy,
Goodbye freedom,
And good riddance to the corporations.
Oh the corporations.
Oh offices, job, will pull you under,
Drain your life of happiness and wonder.
Offices suck and jobs suck.
The world is out to get you.
You want to live free,
But your life is full of work and money.
Your life doesn't have to end.
Sing with anarchy,
Dance with freedom,
And put a curse on the corporations.
Oh the corporations.
Your world is damned,
So get out and live free.
You want the greatest thing
The greatest thing since you.
You've got it all, you've got it sized.
Carry your heart to help you along.
This song was written by Jacques as he sat in his office doing his daily menial tasks, staring out the window at the beauty outside and wishing he could just escape. I think we have all felt that way at one time in our life but have lacked the intelligence that we have to convey it into words. There is a distinct feeling of despondency and disappointment in this ballad – warmly matched by soft minor chords and the angelic singing of Vye. This song has literally brought tears to every listener and we hand out tissues before every performance as a precaution. This is the perfect song to listen to if you are stuck in your Nottingham office and wondering where to go with your life. The line – "Your life doesn't have to end. Sing with anarchy, dance with freedom and put a curse on the corporations." speaks particular volumes to office workers across the country and we have received a great deal of feedback. We are just finalising the recording and then you will be able to buy it on iTunes for the meagre price of 79p.
